We are seeking legal personhood for the Thames River, or as it is known to the Anishinaabe, the Deshkan Ziibi, translated in English to Antler River. As a first step toward this goal, we are calling on the Province of Ontario to formally change the name of the river to the original Anishinaabe name: Deshkan Ziibi. This fund will support our efforts in writing the application, including a forum of community indivduals, the fees for this website, applying for additional funding, and more.
